Paris

The Metropolitan is not the oldest (that would be London's) nor the largest (that would be New York's) subway in the world, but it is certainly the most touristic. Every single day, Paris' subway carries about 500.000 tourists, along with 4 millions city dwellers. The public transportation system of Paris is actually composed of:
- 14 subway lines (the Métro),
- 5 light rail lines (the RER),
- 2 tram lines,
- 266 bus lines.
The Métro and the RER usually operate from 5.30 to midnight, every day.
